Mi sembrava decisamente attraente e ho deciso di provarlo. Ho comprato questo librogame a Lucca 2017 ritenendolo un prodotto nuovo, in realtà sfogliandolo mi sono accorto che è l'edizione italiana di una serie uscita vent'anni fa e arrivata soltanto adesso sotto i nostri cieli. Un prodotto molto ben confezionato e con alcuni aspetti di roleplay interessanti, ma deludente nei contenuti, penalizzato da uno stile di scrittura troppo asciutto e generico. Still, given the hours I sank into the series at the time-and how deeply attached to my character I ended up getting-I feel obliged to hand out five stars. I'm honestly not sure how well these books would stand up to modern audiences from memory the mechanics were quite frustrating, and there was certainly a lot of flipping around pages. Each book can be played alone, but they also connect to each other through a very ingenious system of keywords, so actions taken while "playing" one book can have affects-both good and bad-while playing another. The Fabled Lands books aren't so much a story as they are an adventure in a world. I'm honestly not I was absolutely in love with these books as a kid, circa the mid-90s for me they were sort of a half-way point between a Choose Your Own Adventure novel and a modern computer-based RPG.
